MY FAVORITE UKULELE! (Enya Concert Review)
Today I'm going to show you my favorite ukulele and tell you why I like it so much. This is an Enya concert ukulele made of solid englemann spruce on the top and solid rosewood on the sides and back.
As a ukulele youtuber I've had the chance to compare and contrast a lot of different ukuleles. Over the years a variety of brands send me ukuleles in the mail to try them out. This ukulele has all of the features that I've found are my favorite.
Accessories
Before we even get to the ukulele, let's talk about the accessories. Enya ukuleles always come with accessories, which is something I love about the brand. This particular ukulele comes with a padded gig bag. This gig bag has a front pocket, side handle, and a back handle, which lets you wear it like a backpack.
Design
The design of this ukulele is delicate and classy. The wood is beautiful and the whole ukulele has a nice glossy finish. On the fretboard and the body you have little elegant red flowers. Around the body is an inlay, another nice small detail. The tuners are made of an orange pearl material and they point backwards instead of outwards.
Comfort
More important than the design to me is the comfort of the instrument. The action in the strings on this one is perfect. Some ukuleles have higher action, which wears out your fingers as you play and can be frustrating. This one is so comfortable and the strings are easy to press down. This ukulele also has TWO strap buttons. Some ukuleles don't have any strap buttons, some just have one. I find that two strap buttons is by far the most comfortable option when wearing a strap. I feel just as happy standing as I play as I do sitting.
Sound
And of course most important of all is the sound! The first thing I noticed about this ukulele is that the sound rang out much longer than on my other ukuleles. The tone is so warm, and you also have a lot of control over the dynamics, so you can go from soft to loud easily. You can watch a demo of this ukulele in my review video here:
Downsides
The only downside of this ukulele to me is that there is no plugin. I find it convenient to be able to plug in my ukulele when I'm performing and recording. Instead I have to put a microphone on the ukulele to amplify the sound. But this is a fantastic acoustic ukulele. Also, adding a plugin to the uke would add at least another $100 to the price.

Price
And last of all, I feel like I can happily recommend this ukulele to you because the price is so reasonable for the quality you're getting. In the past, I shelled out money for a $600 uke and was so disappointed with what I got (high action, wouldn't stay in tune...). This is a great ukulele if you're looking to step up to the next level, or if you just want a good reliable instrument starting out. Here is the link to this ukulele: https://amzn.to/2Wl86Yk

Nice review! Just I have a question. You mentioned it was a solid wood uke and later in the text you mentioned it looks like real wood, so it makes me wonder if it is hpl on the back and sides
ReplyDeleteHey Carlos, thank you! Yes, it is solid rosewood on the back and sides. When I said it looked like real wood, I meant in contrast to some of the brightly colored ukuleles that look less like real wood (I say something like this in the video), but I didn't make that clear in my writing. My mistake! So yes, it's real wood! I hope that helps. :)
